## About Mazin

Mazin Al-Kasspooles is a senior clinical advisor to Hayhurst Medical Technologies. A board-certified surgical oncologist, he has spent 30 years in surgical oncology and cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC. He joined the faculty of the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2005 and spent many years there as a professor of surgery, as one of the few surgeons in the Kansas City area offering cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC.

He earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan, completed his general surgery residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix and a surgical oncology fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. His practice has spanned esophageal, gastric and colorectal cancers, peritoneal surface malignancies including mesothelioma, breast cancer, melanoma and soft tissue sarcomas, and he has published on HIPEC.

He joined HMT in July 2026, bringing decades of experience caring for the patients HMT's software is built to find.
